About Us

This website is developed and run to help promote small growers market their products through the web, estimate their cost of production, and improve their management and marketing skills. Buyers can order directly from participating growers. The website also features interactive cost of production programs that estimate the cost of production tailored to each farm. These programs can be generalized for many different crops. This is the first of its kind to do this analysis and could be duplicated by other universities as a model to serve their community. This research was funded by USDA CSREES Alaska Native-Serving and Native Hawaiian-Serving Institutions Education Grants Program and conducted by the University of Hawaii at Hilo College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resource Management.
