Student NAMA Chapter

 

Overall Chapter Goals:

  1. To inform the majority of students on campus about the NAMA.
  2. Raise funds to cover more than 50% of the chapter's expenses.
  3. Facilitate career opportunities for NAMA members.
  4. Expose students to local agri-businesses and to agri-business oppurtunities.

Working Objectives

Programs:

  1. Organize guest speakers and possibly field trips for the semester.
  2. Participate in one community.
  3. Establish online relationships with at least three agri-business professionals around the country.
  4. Develop a marketing plan for the student competition in collaboration with the marketing research class.

Attendance/Member Involvement:

  1. Each member will commit 3 hrs per week to NAMA meetings and 15 hrs to fundraising, or contribute monetarily for their share.
  2. Each member will be part of a committee in order to fairly distribute the workload and so that all members learn from "hands-on activities".
  3. Meetings will be set at regular times each semester, so that members will always know when the next meeting is to be held.

Membership:

  1. Recruit five active members per semester.
  2. Set-up information tables twice per semester at prominent locations.
  3. Post recruiting flyers around campus, particularly in the College of Agriculture and College of Business.
  4. Request that faculty in the College of Agriculture and College of Business read an invitation to a NAMA meeting in their classes each semester.
  5. Submit a Calendar of activities to the school newspaper.
  6. Each member is to bring at least one friend to a NAMA meeting per semester.
  7. Set-up a display in the student services display box in the fall semester.

Special Projects:

  1. 10 members will represent the chapter at the annual marketing competition
